Sustainability Quest Mission

Our second mission of the expedition is to create a meaningful climate change and sustainability awareness project. In simple terms, we live on 1 planet and we need to stop acting as though we have the resources of 7!

Climate change and global warming is one of the biggest challenges facing our World today. But global warming cannot be examined, or solved, in isolation to the whole issue of the environment. And the environment cannot be examined in isolation to the economy and society. They are all inextricable linked. Sustainability, or sustainable development, is therefore being increasingly recognised as the key to living a World where growth, social welfare, and the planet are all equally catered for.

We have three objectives in our sustainability quest:

To raise awareness of the effects of climate change on the Greenland ice cap, and its possible implications for the World.
To carry out specific scientific monitoring tasks on behalf of our support team of science advisors and their studies.
To raise awareness of sustainability and to actively promote the One Planet Living programme of a sustainable Earth.
